This was an easy week for our homeschool. My husband and I were not feeling well and with our car still broken, it was a good week to stay home. Also, this was our 9th week of the homeschooling year so we’ve been finishing up a few loose ends and testing before starting our fall break.
The highlight this week has been the chalkboard wall. With our pirate studies being over it was time to erase. J had been asking to do that for several days, so he was excited to get that job started.
We have decided that the next mural should be a fall scene and agreed on a big full moon with a silhouette tree.
We’re saving a couple of blank spaces in the moon for other silhouettes, perhaps a bat, an owl, and a spider.
Perhaps we’ll get it finished over the weekend or early next week. Until then we will have to deal with a dusty mess.
Our keyhole garden science project is still ongoing. The tomato plants are about finished but the peppers are still producing like crazy.
E and B have started back with SALT (homeschool creative ministries troop) and are loving being with their friends again after some time off to settle into the new school year.
I hope you had a good week and that you enjoy your weekend.
betty jo
It sounds like a good week even with illness.
Blessings, Dawn
The last week before a break is usually a good one, for sure! Thanks for visiting, Dawn! You have a nice weekend.
I just love seeing your chalkboard wall! Sorry you and your husband haven’t been feeling well. Don’t you love having the flexibility with homeschool to just let it go and feel better. 🙂
Thanks Renee, I’m feeling a bit better, but my husbands back isn’t. And yes, flexibility with homeschooling is a tremendous advantage!
That chalkboard wall is way too cool. Hopefully everyone feels better soon!
Yeah, that chalkboard wall is cool, once we finish a mural, but the mess is pretty bad while we’re working on one. Thanks for visiting and we are feeling a little better.
I love the new mural in progress! Also, your peppers look delicious 🙂
Thanks, I’m anxious to see how the new mural turns out. And, those peppers are just plain crazy. This will be the 5th time we’ve harvested from them.
Glad to see you at FF again! Your chalk board talents never cease to amaze me! Up here, the garden harvest is pretty much over with. We may get a few more carrots though! Hope you all are feeling better soon and that the flood damage was non-existent!
Thanks Sylvia, the wall amazes me too. Seems like each mural becomes my favorite. The flash flooding was not how we wanted to spend the weekend. But all is fine now. We’ve never had success w/carrots, and will have to try again, they are one of the few veggies everyone agrees on!
Glad to hear all is well!
