April 19 is “Bicycle Day”! Here’s some learning resources for a fun and interesting study!
On 26 June 1819, W. K. Clarkson, Jr. of New York was granted a patent for a new and improved velocipede (“bicycle” was not a word yet) . This is the first bicycle made in the USA.
Inspired by this wonderful invention, bicycles will be our homeschool summer school lesson of the day. We will learn/review the parts of a bicycle, their proper names, and perform some maintenance checks before taking ride.
Below are the links we will follow for our bicycle study.

Because the kids like to watch stunts, we will some view some BMX tricks.
In case you’re wondering, I will be enforcing the “DO NOT TRY THIS AT HOME” rule!

Here’s our learning resource list all updated and edited for Explore Your Career Options Week 2016
“What do you want to be when you grow up?” I suppose that all of us were asked that at one time or another. You’ve probably asked a child that question yourself. I’ve asked my kids and this coming up week, I’ll be asking again. According to the Special Days in April list, https://stilllearningsomethingnew.com/2016/03/30/special-days-in-april-2016/, this coming up week is “Explore Your Career Options Week”.
Below are the online resources that we’ll be using for our homeschooling lessons as we explore careers, the steps it takes to get them, and how much money they are worth.
