June 7 is Daniel Boone Day! I’ve updated the resource list from a few years ago. I’m excited to this study with the boys!
According to the special days calendar, June 7 is “Daniel Boone Day”, though October 22 is his birthday (1734). This American pioneer/frontiersman/explorer, is an interesting guy to study any day. Below are some links for free Daniel Boone teaching resources.

I didn’t even know there was a day dedicated to Daniel Boone. That’s pretty cool. We read about him a couple years back and the kids thought he was a pretty cool character. Maybe we’ll catch this for next year and study him again.
Though not named after Daniel Boone, one of my sons is named Boone! When we were reading we learned that Daniel Boone had the Indian nickname of “The Big Turtle”. So, you guessed it! The boys decided yesterday that they’ll be calling their brother “B.T” 🙂
