Happy Birthday Dear…Everybody

For the past few years our homeschool support group has thrown one big birthday bash for all of our members.  This year our Debbie did not want any help with the decorating and wanted to surprise us.  And she did!  Each table was decorated with a month theme.

fn13We had a good turnout for the birthday party.  I didn’t get a head count but at least 70 were there.

For the night’s entertainment Jason Lindsey (a homeschool dad, traveling science teacher, and all around nice guy) presented us with a Creation based “Hooked on Science” show.  We all loved him.  Here’s his link:  http://www.hookedonscience.org/fn14

For dessert Debbie made four cakes, one for each season!fn12

Thank you so much Debbie.  You make all of our homeschool group parties so special.

Thanks, B.J.! I was completely packed up & out between 12:30 & 1:00 a.m.. I saw where you & Anita were wondering when I got done. Then of course, even as tired as I was, it took me another couple of hours to wind down & finally get to sleep that night. I was tired, but it was worth it. I wanted to surprise everybody when they walked in & I sure didn’t think it was fair to make you guys have to take all my junk down & pack it after, which is why I ran everybody out when the party was over. You didn’t post the pictures of the church fellowship hall after I got everything packed away, but I was amazed at how barren it looked! It was all worth the planning, preparing, set-up, & take-down though. My family & I had a blast! The eats were great, the company was wonderful, & we really enjoyed Jason’s presentation. I love nothing more than to hear the children’s laughter (mine included!) & to see the parents’ smile as they listen to their children laugh (me included!) I wasn’t exactly sure what our ‘Family Nights’ would evolve into when I first proposed the idea, but I’m loving where it’s going. I just hope everyone else enjoys them as much as I do. Can’t wait until April’s!
