I make my monthly special days calendars by using several sources including old calendars,  holiday books, newspapers, my old journal notes, and the web.  These lists started years ago as a holiday study, then we changed focus and learned with monthly themes (this is when the food additions started).  That evolved into historic based  special days (Middle Ages, and Early US) being added to our homeschooling lessons.

As my family moves along in our time period studies, (we’re in the 1800’s now and will be moving on to Modern World History during our next school year), I’ve started looking for more recent events to add to the “daily specials”.  The greatest lessons learned throughout the years of special days studies have been that every day HAS ALWAYS BEEN and WILL ALWAYS BE SPECIAL, and we will always have something new to learn.

If you know of a special day that I do not have listed, please comment and let me know what it is so I can add it in.   Below are the links to my favorite online calendars.

This is an excellent list! Thank you for doing all the work to put it together. I’ll be using this with my family and my marketing clients this month.

Thanks for leaving the comment Traci! I’m glad you’ll be using it with your family, but until this very second, I hadn’t thought of the list to be used in marketing. Wow, just wow.
